FREE LESSONS

These are only recorded lessons with CONVENTIONAL METHOD of teaching. As there are many limitations in recording, (time limit is the biggest factor), I am unable to explain every detail here.

But the online tuition is real time, live and interactive tuition where we can see and talk to each other. Hence during online tuition I can elaborate full details. Students can ask questions and I can reply at the same time. An average BEGINNER can learn and play at least three to four tunes successfully in one single session. One can complete the basic lessons within eight sessions or less and start learning the songs from the ninth session.

IF YOU WISH TO TRY THE ONLINE TUITION YOU CAN CHAT TO ME ONLINE FOR FREE ON EVERY THURSDAY AT 9.00PM(IST) OR ON MONDAY AT 10.00PM (IST) BUT ONLY AFTER FIXING AN APPOINTMENT. PLEASE DO WRITE TO ME THROUGH CONTACT USFOR AN APPOINTMENT

  • 1st Lesson (Note Location)

If you are a beginner the biggest problem you face is that unlike guitar or keyboard or any other instrument you CAN NOT see the note that you want to play once you put the harmonica in your mouth , but with the use of rubber bands like this you can 'see' the notes as well as you can 'feel' them and hence can play the required note very easily.

You can become familiar with the 'note location' within a couple of days and then you can remove the rubber bands and play fluently. I have been teaching this trick to my students from the beginning and have found it very effective.

Also memorising the notes by their names as Sa, Re, Ga or Do, Re, Mi or C, D, E instead of their hole numbers and blow/draw is advantageous and easier. Your senior or your teacher can 'sing the notation' for you or you can read it for yourself and play it on harmonica.

  • 1st tune (Twinkle Twinkle)
Please memorise the notation thoroughly and then play the notes as they are sung. You will easily locate the notes on the harmonica if you have done the first lesson well.
  • Merrily We Roll and London Bridge
Before trying this lesson please be sure that you are quite familiar with the location of the notes on the harmonica. Now memorise the notation of these small tunes phrase by phrase and then proceed to play them on the harmonica. When you learn the harmonica with Sa Re Ga Ma (or Do Re Mi or C D E F) it is easier for the teacher as well as for the student to deal with the tune rather than expressing it in terms of hole numbers.
